Visit planning form

Let visitors choose a date, describe their group and tell us what matters to them, starting on your own website.

Visitors enter their email in the form and receive a link to continue planning on PlanMyVisit.

Add the form

Add this snippet to your page to display the form shown below.

The only setting you must configure is data-visit. All other settings are optional and use defaults when omitted.

<script async
  src="https://api.autoura.com/api/visitplans/form/embed.js"
  data-visit="BuckinghamPalace"
  data-lang="en"
  data-reference="homepage"
  data-color="#3170b7"
  data-background="#ffffff"
  data-text="#242424"></script>

For data-visit, replace BuckinghamPalace with either of these:

  • Slug: the last part of the visit’s PlanMyVisit web address; update your snippet if it changes. For example, for https://www.planmyvisit.to/BuckinghamPalace, use BuckinghamPalace
  • Visit ID: a fixed identifier for the visit. It stays the same even if the slug changes. For Buckingham Palace, this is visit-6cd75f37a85e735

The form is mobile responsive and adjusts to the available width and its content height. No API key is needed.

Update your privacy policy: Explain that the embedded form is provided by Autoura (The Spontaneous Travel Company Limited), a UK-based company with Prighter as our EU GDPR representative (Article 27), and that visitors’ details are passed to us when they submit the form. Include a link to our privacy policy.

Example: Buckingham Palace

This example uses exactly the snippet shown above. Copy it onto your website to try the same Buckingham Palace form.

Make it fit your website

  • Colors: choose an accent, background and text color. Use six-digit hex colors and keep enough contrast for visitors to read the form easily.
  • Language: the form and plan creation currently use English. The data-lang setting selects the form’s language when translations are available. See the Autoura language list.
  • Reference (data-reference): use a reference such as homepage, summer-campaign or perhaps your own customer reference, if you want to connect a visit plan with your own records later. The reference is not shown to visitors or used in visit planning. Use up to 255 characters.

You can put the form on more than one page, using a different reference each time. If a visitor resumes an existing plan, its original reference stays unchanged.

How it works

A small JavaScript include loads the form in an iframe, keeping its layout separate from your website’s styles.

The embedded form collects the visitor’s date, group, message and email address. We then email them a link to continue planning on PlanMyVisit. The same flow works on every website, including this demonstration.

If your website blocks the form

If the form already loads and works, no extra setup is needed. Otherwise, check the browser console for a Content Security Policy (CSP) error. Edit the existing Content-Security-Policy response header in your server, hosting or security settings, or the content value of the matching meta tag in your HTML <head>. Add https://api.autoura.com to the script-src and frame-src lists, keeping existing permissions; for example, script-src 'self' becomes script-src 'self' https://api.autoura.com. If those directives are absent, preserve their inherited permissions when adding them. If script-src-elem is present, update it too.
