You'll start in St Ives and cycle to Zennor, passing Rosewall hill on the way. At Zennor, stop for some refreshments before carrying on, cycling past ancient ruins, old mines, and the beautiful moorland.

St Ives

Start your tour is St Ives and head up the Higher Stennack Road, passing the Fire Station and Leach Pottery. Keep going to the next strop and look for the ocean

A National Trust owned hill offering views of St Godvrey and beyond. On the hill, you'll discover a Neolithic Cairn

The Moomaid in Zennor

The Moomaid in Zennor

Moomaid of Zennor make luxury Cornish ice cream on their family run dairy farm perched on the cliffs between Zennor Hill and the Atlantic Ocean. Their ice cream can be found across Cornwall but is best here

The Gurnard's Head

Named after the rocky headland that resembles the head of an unusual looking fish, the Gurnard's Head is a lovely gastro pub surrounded by spectacular scenery. If it's safe to do so, look up when cycling. There's often buzzards, kestrels, and even red kites soaring in the skies above

Carn Galver Mine

Carn Galver Mine

The Carn Galver Mine operated throughout the 19th century before it was closed in 1878. It's two ruined engine houses have since been restored by the National Trust. Check out the notice board in the car park for more

Lanyon Quoit

Lanyon Quoit

Lanyon Quoit is thought to have been a tomb, dating to around 3000BC. It used to be high enough to ride a horse under but collapsed in 1815 and lost some height when it was repaired nine years later

Ding Dong Mines

Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ding Dong Mines are believed to have been operated since the 18th century. Tin was mined here until the post-war years in the 1920s

Chysauster Ancient Village

Inhabited from about 100BC until the 3rd Century AD, Chysauster Ancient Village is currently under the care of English Heritage. It's one of the best preserved ancient villages in Britain. If you're visiting, you'll have to pay an admission fee to English Heritage
